What I haven't wrote a review for Boka!? The food at Boka was fantastic with friendly staff and comfortable ambiance. We went in with the expectation for a 1 star Michelin, they did not disappoint. I happen to be in Chicago for a conference and a family member suggested to have dinner at Boka. That was such a great recommendation, all the dishes were so delicious... we were happily stuffed. They offer both regular and tasting menu. Since it was our first time there, we wanted to try their signature dishes. The waiter recommended duck breast being their signature dish, and he was right. The meat was so tender and flavorful with a tasty sauce. Thinking back, I just recall all of the dishes were tasty, it was a lot of food, but we managed to finish them. Whether you are a local foodie or a traveling foodie, I recommend giving Boka a try!

I am very lucky to say that this is my third time coming to Boka in the last 7 years, and it has remained consistent and impeccable. We were celebrating a special occasion this time around, and the staff were so attentive, informative, and made our whole evening feel special. We tried the 8 course tasting menu, and wow what an experience! Be warned, this is an experience so if you're looking for a quick in and out dinner, I would just order off the regular menu which also has spectacular choices. They started by asking us about allergies or aversions, and treated it as zero problem to accommodate my gluten allergy and my husbands shellfish allergy. We had so much food and are still talking about how kind blowing it is that they are able to pack the smallest of dishes and garnishes with the most intense bursts of flavor. The standouts were the bluefin tuna and the blackberry sorbet, but we truly don't have any qualms about anything we had. The pictures can't even do the taste justice, but I am hoping I am lucky enough to come back to Boka again in the future!

Boka was a charming and delightful fine dining experience. We had an amazing server who was knowledgeable, pleasant and overly accommodating to make sure certain food item modifications were made for our group. All of the courses were beautiful to look at and equally delicious, but the standout course for me was the bluefin tuna with strawberries. Please see menu for course list. Boka was a great addition to my weekend dining experience in Chicago! I highly recommend.

Disclaimer: We opted for ordering things a la carte instead of choosing the tasting menu. The duck was delicious, but it was a little cold (even though we were told it's torched before serving). Also, the vegetables were over-salted. Everything else was great -- not pictured here, but the cucumbers were delicious. Service was good, not over the top (in a good way). I would probably come back to try the tasting menu. The dim lighting (light fixtures are gorgeous) and dark decor makes for a romantic evening.
